Finally the day that Karen and Dave have been planning arrives and there are two significant things that hit us.....firstly Dave has had to call out the doctor as he had a fever HE IS OK but obviously with the day ahead he wanted to feel his best. The doctor prescribed some drugs to get him through the day...thankfully they kicked in pretty fast and he was able to enjoy the helipcopter ride.

Frances was extremely well behaved apart from the take off from Heathrow in which she screamed the plane down but apart from that she was as good as gold Certainly too much excitement for her planes airports escalators wide open spaces to run and the discovery of dairylea dun

Monday was Columbus day here. A public holiday but only for some schools and some government depts. We packed up in San Diego and drove to Las Vegas. Once we got out of the populated areas we were into rocky dessert areas again then into the Mojave dessert which is a boring rolling hills dessert. We did see some Joshua trees along the way though. Then out in the middle of no where we came acros

Portland International Jetport...What a stupid name. Reminds me of The Flintstones or something.Anyway the flights on Jet Blue were good. People were complaining about the long flight 5.5 hours but I say Try JFK to Manila...about 18 I'll activate my Vegas Power Pass today and dig in to the local attractions. The food is great but very expensive. It makes NYC seem like ''bargainland.''.

After we left Gilmer and Steve's house we meandered around a bit then ultimately found our way to the correct rout out of LA toward Las Vegas. It was actually a pretty straightforward trip through the suburbs over the Sierras and through the desert. We arrived in Vegas well before dark and checked in to Treasure Island they had the bestpriced room on the Strip. After making it through regis

A place has never been more worthy of its name. Known as lsquoDisneyland for adultsrsquo this money pit is ready to swallow you whole. Bright flashing lights send you into a daze as you wade through numerous hands thrusting business cards advertising an array of illustrious women into your path . If you avoid the temptation of a yard of margarita for 5 then you will inevitably fall foul t

Anyone who has been to Las Vegas will think what they are about to read here is bog standard in the City of Sin. For us however it was a bit of a shock to the system. We headed to vegas to break up our 8 hour journey back to LA with our only other goal being to eat as much as we could for our 24 24hour buffet ticket at the Tropicana. We did achieve this in some style but the day would be r
