So we find a non gay bar to watch Eurovision at... A little bar called the Victoria Bar just a little out of the centre of town.. The taxi driver asked why we were going there and of course we were happy to share our reasons why.... He just shook his head at us and laughed. Seems that pretty much is the standard reaction we get. The bar is owned by Swedish owners and is a little eclectic... Funky

These miles of dry stone wallsThat hold in ploughed fields and kingly hallsThe dead of centuries in hills of sandThe stones that bind themAre proud of what lies behind them And varied as the counties in this curious land.Pedaling into the wind and driving ran over the top of the Morfoot Hills towards Edinburgh yesterday I finally understood that the dry in this lyric does not refer to the usual

Day 2

Our day began with another early breakfast cooked by our hosts. Kelsey and I trekked across the city so she could have her first interview. As luck would have it the entire section of town we needed to find had no public transportation so we had to walk for an hour but eventually made it. Later we attempted to find the Edinburgh Zoo which sounded easy enough. However we ended up blindly walk

Greetings from Scotland. Our trip got off to an easy start Tuesday since we had a straight flight from Atlanta to London. From there we caught a second flight here. Apparently I am extremely lucky because we were able to move into first class for free when we checked in online with British Air. After the 1.5 hour flight we hopped on a double decker tour bus and tried to find our hotel. After a g

Believe it or not the sun came out and the wind died down. We slept in a bit and had a leisurely breakfast. Joe and I headed out to the Royal Mile this time towards the bottom and Holyrood Palace. This is where the Queen stays when she is in town. Though the original structure dates from the 120039s the palace we see today is due to the renovations under Charles II. Along the mile are the te

Our first full day in in the capital of Scotland was cool and drizzly with a sharp cold wind off the North Sea. We met our guide Gail in the lobby and headed out across the bridge from the New Town to the Royal Mile. The buildings here are about eight stories high and narrow mostly made of dark stone. There have been tenements here since the town was developed and though the buildings here are mo

On the way to our first stop we saw snow on the roadside and light flurries on the windshield not the king of weather we were hoping for.
