Today we spent some time in the town of Jasper walking on a path along the train tracks toward the station. Midday we left for Lake Louise which was about a 4 hour ride. Along the way we had a brief stop at the Columbia Icefield which was amazing and very cold. We also saw 4 adult bears and 2 baby bears which were right along the roadway at 3 different spots. Wow is really all you can say abo

Drove for approx 5 6 hrs from Kelowna to Lake Louise. Stopped by some unknown lakes on the way for toilet break and photo op. So strange the lake looked like it's semi frozen. The edge is still water while the rest of the lake has a layer of frost on it. Continued on and finally arrived at Lake Louise Town at abt 5pm. Our Ms NeverGetLost brought us to the wrong HI Lake Louise which we pa

We woke to the sounds of rain and trains which incidentally are amazingly long here they have hundreds of carriages. They are impressive to look at but when you want a relaxing sleep in they donrsquot impress me much. Irsquom not sure whether Dad had too much cheese before bed or whether hersquod been listening to too many campfire stories about bears but when we got out of our tent he

A quick report as I sit in the car outside the youth hostel in Lake Louise. I'm using their wireless. Very cold but clear here. Was minus 42 yesterday but has warmed up to minus 20 today. The Family are skiing as I type except Silas who is working. Have some nice picture but will load them next time. The area is strikingly beautiful but as you can imagine the temperatures are an inconvenience. Ou

We have just recently returned from Eiffel Lake and the Valley of The Ten Peaks. Now is the time to visit. The larch trees are spectacular and there are few tourists around right now. Valley of the Ten Peaks is relatively easy to get to. From Banff head towards Lake Louise on Highway 1. Before you get to Lake Louise take the Moraine Lake turn. After 14km you will arrive at Moraine Lake. To get to

We did a canyon hike in Maligne canyone and then drove the entire icefield parkway down into Lake Louise in Banff NP. On the way to Maligne canyon we passed multiple elk and sheep but still no bear sitings grizzleys or black bears. The rivers are shallow so we were expecting to see bea
