Thursday July 3rd Last night we camped beside one of those teeny tiny trailers in which one has to undress and dress in bed. About 12 people came over to look at it before the couple got home but it has tinted windows so they were frustrated. It has a kitchen in the back and we are convinced wersquod both die of suffocation if we ever had to stay in something like it. They had a neat d

With no reservations for a tour we headed down to the docks first thing and booked an 8 hour tour of the Kenai Fjords National Park on the Major Marine Line.
Damp cool weather continues with strong winds blowing off the water and low clouds hanging over the mountains. We left Homer and drove back through Soldotna and stopped at Fred Meyers for a repair kit for the tent. We have a small hole in the boot that goes around the hatch. The scenery today was mountains and clouds dampened with showers. We arrived in Seward which we found to be a quaint p

We had two wonderful weeks camping and exploring Alaska. We spent several days in the Seward area where the sun always shined and the 24 hours of daylight made it possible to take on 16 mile hikes without fear of getting back before dark. We had no encounters with bears which made me happy as I didn't know if my dog Ceali would try to take them on and only end up making them mad and leading th

The town has an Alaska sea life center where we were able to see sea lions seals puffins and other critters that roam the ocean floor. We made our way out to see Exit Glacier.
