Our journey to Freiburg was a rainy train ride but that didn't dampen the beauty of Autumn in the Black Forest. They all welcomed us with open arms and a delicious homemade pizza was soon to follow. The next day weary from our travels Ingo took us to a traditional h

I've had worse in South America but it is an interesting concept. Freiburg itself is a very nice town with some impressive buildings and the su

I hope this blog entry finds everyone doing well and enjoying the end of summer. I recently spend a weekend in two cities in the Black Forest. The Black Forest in Germany is called Schwarzwald which translates out literally to Black Forest. On Saturday I went with a group of about 10 people from my program and went to the town of Triberg. This is a relatively small town and is pretty touristy

Getting used to life here hasn't been that difficult yet. I think it is because I hang out with the people on my program so much but that will change here really soon I hope. I like them but I am not here to hang out with other Americans. It was a struggle to get them into a club last night for some reason. I would have to say that a German club is not the most fun I have ever had. Dancing

I finally bought a coin purse today for all of the change I have that is almost 10 euros worth which is enough for dinner around here. At IES we filled out paperwork for about two hours for residency permits therefore I am officially without a passport for 2 weeks. This is unfortunate because ther
