Decided to go to Taronga Zoo today. Had to get the ferry across the harbour which was cool and while we were down at the harbour we noticed that the NYE cruises had been reduced. Everyone here has told us that the best views are from on the boats and naughtily we were tempted. It was 300 each the boat has a bar and DJ onboard and it's BYO food. We decided to go for it as the boat is also taking

A different view

I've just bought a new camera. Maybe I've gone a bit overboard with this but my old camera was driving me nuts. So now I have a new one from Sony. This one has less optical zoom but more megapixels. I'll recharge it tonight so I can hopefully take more decent pictures and I don't have to get frustated over the lens not wanting to get out or in. In the morning I've been to Sydney's fish market an

I'm not a map reader

Right so I arrived at 1PM yesterday and I took the bus to my hostel but was stubborn and got out too early even though I had asked the bus driver to tell me when to drop off hahaha. After that I headed to town and walked around. Like many other women I am not a map reader I think I've been walking a lot first in the complete wrong direction and then when I wanted to get back to the hostel

HelloNow you hear from me live from Sydney...the bus trip went well. It didn't take as long as I expected. It's still a long trip but overall it went pretty fast. I am however really tired and I felt like a sardine in a coach but I was able to get some sleep in between and we have enough breaks too. As soon as I arrived in Sydney I asked around how to get to the Glebe area. It's a nice area and

I love spending time with new friends I met at Beverly Hills Chinese Baptist Church They are a bunch of food lovers taking us to all the good food in town. One of the most popular type of desserts here is chocolate my favorite One afternoon after Sunday service Vicky suggested to try out the new chocolate store opened near Chinatown the Chocolate Room. It features not only their own br

HelloAfter the night bus debacle I finally rolled into Sydney midafternoon feeling exhausted after having had insufficient sleep on the coach. So despite being in Sydney at last a place I had regarded as the 'Holy Grail' of the East Coast after checking in to my hostel near to Bondi Beach I just popped over to have a quick look at nearby Tamarama and Bronte Beaches whilst waiting for the laun

So we bought some supplies sarnies crisps and choc and sat in Hyde Park near a big church which had a nativity scene and xmas tree outside. It doesn't really seem like xmas to us just like a bank holiday or something. It's also odd because we're 11hrs ahead of UK. As there is

Cheap food has consequences

So it's xmas eve and neither me nor Rob are feeling very christmassy especially as the cheap food from last night does not appear to have been a bargain for either of us Went to See A Christmas Carol in 3D this morning on a ginormous screen. It was fantastic loved it... though it did make us both miss home. Had banana bread again for dinner. Looks like tomorrow may well be a very boring day as

After waiting for what seemed to be about 3 hrs for our laundry to be done we went to Paddy's Market an indoor market on the doorstep of our hostel that runs WedSun. Picked up some really cheap fruit and Rob got a new tshirt to replace his grimey pink one. We then walked over Sydney Bridge to Luna Park a little fairground. This was a trek and after yesterday neither of us was very keen The
