Our BB was perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the incredible views of Montego Bay and the cruise ships that slide by but alas no picture perfect sunsets presented. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade as we were the only tennants during our stay and we were well looked after. The accommodation was the best of our trip and the fruit platter entree to breakfast was outstanding. R

'Jamaican' me feel like travelling again....

Sorry for the dreadful pun incorporated into the title of this section but a trip to the Caribbean in January 2006 replaced the regular annual January ski fixture and was yet another encounter with the American tourist which was to be the last for absolutely no reason other than ongoing commitments and diminished practicalities. I arrived on the island of Jamaica in poor shape due to a newlyb

Once again we set off through the countryside of Jamaica this time venture to Negril. We passed thru towns full of people shack like stands and pretty little homes. After shopping we went to the famous Rick's Cafe to watch the cliff divers and ended the evening with a Jamaican dinner. The next day we left the Whitehouse resort to travel to Montego Bay for the remainder of our time here. After vi

Today was quite possibly the most fun day I've ever had. I've had a lot of fun days seen a lot of cool things and done a lot of cool thins but today...well if it doesn't top them it ties them for first. The day started at 9 am when we were picked up by a small van. He took us through Montego Bay to two other resorts to pick up other people. Among them were two newly weds as of yesterday John

Well After a very long and very tedious day we have discovered that travel to Lima is impossible for the next 3 days. As Kenji's dad works for Continental we are flying very cheap and therefore we are on standby. Today the flight was extremly overbooked due to weather conditions from yesterday and as a result we missed the flight today. The problem is the next 3 days are also really overbo

Seria a chance

The last couple of days have been very chilled. We went to Doctor's Cave a beach on the Hip Strip for an afternoon with a couple of neighbours from where we're staying. Two German student doctors who are working in the Mobay hospital and our room mate Jon from Canada. The Docs had some interesting facts the most crazy being that the most common cause of burns in Jamaica are acid burns. Women

Today Patrick took us up in to the hills around Mobay. We climbed up and up the mountain side with the views getting better and better as the road got worse and worse. On the way we passed lots of local houses and shops full of interesting fruit. This was the area where Patrick grew up and we passed his school on the way learning about the different trees and fruits as we went along.Next stop w

Assault in Montego Bay top 5 worst of traveling

3. On your first day in Montego Bay Jamaica find your way out of the resort area since it just sucks. Let your traveling duo be approached by a fellow who only seems to want to show you that he excels in questioning you on where are you from what do you do and what is your name blaah blaah blaah. Half an hour later as the guy gets more and more tedious by the minute exchange a few words

I can say that this was a very relaxing vacation and the last day was a very pleasant good bye to Jamaica. We had fun we were relaxed and ready to go home. It was the perfect length of time. We had our last breakfast and today instead of heading for the beach to pl

If you are searching for a clean beach and clear water head to Doctor's Cave in Mo'Bay.The sand is a wee bit more coarse and sinks faster so the water is quite clear. You pay for access but this means more privacy.Negril has a great stretch of fine sand accessible by the public. Great art food etc. on the beach. Ochi has some nice beaches but the cruise ships stir it up and you can often se
