Waimea Canyon is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. Just like a huge valley a crack in a mountain a fractured and scarred valley. Just an amazing sight.Kalalau Lookout is another one of these incredibly beautiful places on Kauai. Just beautiful.I will not write too many words about it. Just look at the pictures and you will understand me.

Yesterday we kicked off our day by going to Wake Up Cafe for a hearty local breakfast. The french toast spam and cheese omelette were amazing Next we went to visit both the dry Maniniholo and wet Kee Beach caves in Haena. We swa

In all my life Ive never looked at a landscape with my own eyes and thought it looked photoshopped the colors a little too saturated a little too vibrant rendering it too good to be true. I never would have believed it possible before I laid eyes on Kalalau Valley during the golden hour. I had first seen it in photographs and it was love at first sight hovering at the top of my todo list fo

I had the pleasure of having my two good friends come to visit me while I have been in Hawaii. They stayed with me and we also took a trip for the weekend to Kaua39i one of the other islands of Hawai39i. We had booked a snorkeling boat ride that went around the Napali Coast side of the island. Unfortunately the water was not very good for snorkeling that day too turbulent and cloudy alth

Drive from Lihue to Na Pali coast hike trailhead

The video here shows that the transients from all the Tsunami wave effects had not yet died out and were still very much ongoing. The first Tsunami wave from Japan was estimated to be a 2 meter wave or increase in sea level but was to arrive at 307am on 11 Mar 2011. This video was shot at around noon that same day so just less than 9 hours after the first effects of the Tsunami were to be seen.

Our Love Affair with Kauai

We are huge fans of Kauai. It has a pure invigorating climate and remains unspoiled. Going there always takes some planning and we stick to the guidebook called Kauai Trailblazer. There list of hikes is daunting and as a family we've completed fifteen on the northern portion of the island. This fall we are tackling the trails in Waimea Canyon and will be reserving a condominium in the Poipu Be

Approximately 13 months ago I had my first Kalalau experience over a long July 4th weekend. Since then I have spent seven months backpacking in South America and seen many amazingly beautiful things but all that has only convinced me further that Kalalau is perhaps the most beautiful place on the planet.Throughout my recent travels abroad I have looked forward to my next Kalalau journey.
