I left Boston yesterday morning at 8 am. Finally took the bus as the rideshare to Montreal would have made me arrive after midnight in Quebec City. I was looking forward to a pretty ride up through New Hampshire and Vermont since last time I did it it was nighttime and snowing. It wasn't nighttime yesterday but it DID snow the whole way to the Canadian border and you couldn't see much of the

I arrived in Boston late last night after a VERY long day. Leaving Quebec City turned out to be as hard as arriving there My bus from Montreal to Boston at 1145 am in the morning I'd traveled to Montreal from Quebec City by bus from 730 to 1030 am was cancelled because of a heavy snowstorm in Vermont and they didn't know if the next one at 345 PM would be leaving or not. So I spent 5 ho

It snowed all night and this morning we woke up to 50 cms of snow on the ground The snow plows go right to work and there's even a baby one for the sidewalks.I'm going to post some photos of Marc and Marlo's street la rue St. Jean as well as some sites of Winter Carnival. The snow stopped in the afternoon and we saw a dogsled race and various other sports and sights. Even had some caribou

It's now 6 PM in the evening. It's been snowing all day and the City is like a winter wonderland with fresh white snow Christmas lights and bundledup people scurring down the streets just like the Kedl photo I posted this morning. They announce 2030 cms of snow during the evening. It's 8 but the wind chill factor is 18. Hopefully the fireworks will still be held later on this eveni

Hello Well the first lapse of my trip was quite eventful My direct Air Transat flight from Paris to Quebec City never made it to Q.C. because of a snowstorm. The pilot made two attempts to land and then announced that we were going first to Montreal and that we might then try to make it back to Quebec. Upon arrival in Montreal we were told that we'd be traveling back to Quebec by coacha

My Mum came to visit for a week and I have been showing her the best Montreal has to offer and have been discovering Quebec City with her for my first time. After walking around Montreal fuelled by meals in some of my favourite restaurants we headed to the subarctic temperatures of Quebec City where the wind chill made it a shocking 33 degrees. Brrrrrr. The city itself is beautiful. The old tow

I have fallen in love....

I have fallen in love with Quebec City. Quebec was founded in 1608 and it is preparing for its 400th anniversary next year which it will host events every day of the year. VieuxQuebec is a world heritage site and is 95 French speaking. Nearly 9 million tourists visit Quebec every year and I can see why its won many awards and been voted as one of the top tourist destinations in the Americas.

Day 53 Monday 16 July 2007 Quebec Today we ventured into 'Old Quebec' which is an absolutely gorgeous little part of this city. New Quebec apparently isn't much newer than old Quebec but this part is just so pretty and quaint plus really clean its great to wander about. We first booked a 2.5 hour walking tour of the area as well as a 1.5 hour cruise up the St Laurence River. We had time

On to Quebec...Today was another travel day. We flew from Ottawa to Quebec City. Quebec has a completely different feel than Ottawa. It is a bilingual city where French and English are spoken equally. We took a walking tour of the city to get the general feel. The highlight of the day was the Fourth of July party thrown by the U.S. Consul General to Quebec.
UntitledSo I have come to somewhat understand the term Quebecois. Quebecois are the people culture history language food art architecture and much more which make up the province of Quebec. As some have said like the professor who presented to the group today Canada started here in Quebec. And while many may disagree with this statement there is historical fact to support this idea.
