Yay I am ALL done with finals and since the tests are FINALLY over I can finally update this blog which I've wanted to do ever since I got back but got a little bombarded with the studying. So after Copenhgagen I arrived in Stockholm around 1pm and was so exhausted barely able to keep my eyes open until I saw the Swedish welcoming pictures of famous people at the airport. And when I passed In

The sun was shining over Stockholm early in the morning as our ship docked and I could tell Stockholm would be a very pretty city. We were one time zone closer to home on our journey getting ever nearer The challenge was almost complete Thailand to England with no planes. We took a train and a bus to our hotel it had been impossible to get a youth hostel in Stockholm. We realised that our tra

Finishing up our trip

The next couple of days we spent discovering the city and all of its beauty. Our second day in Stockholm we took a ferry boat across to an island. This island was filled with carnival rides and museums. We went into the museum that was filled with history if Sweden. Eric and I walked around for a couple hours then wanted to venture the city a little more. We found the main street that was

It was with some sadness that I packed up my few belongings cleaned and tidied and left my first Stockholm flat for pastures new. It has been my home for about 5 months and I will really miss the view out of the living room window. But I wasnrsquot prepared to deal with the inconveniences of having the place ready for viewings at 24 hours notice as my landlord is likely to have to sell up wi

For ages my friendcolleague Sara and I have been talking about having a night out together. Well this weekend it finally happened She got together a bunch of her friends and threw me into the mix... Which all worked beautifully.
This was supposed to be my last weekend in Stockholm so the usual suspects were planning to come over for a farewell tour... only it turned out to be farewell to Chris and Shankar rather than me But no matter Nat Steve and John booked their flights anyway even if John did manage to book his to arrive rather than depart at 10am.
And we thought Copenhagen was cold. Arriving at Stockholm which is quite a bit farther north we had to wear scarves and extra jackets. We first went to check into our hotel which happened to be owned by a band member from ABBA. Eric and I had our own hotel room we were getting spoiled and what a hotel room it was. You could play a cd in the main room and listen to it in the bathroom

We don't trust any one or anything especially on trips where evil locals give false or misleading information to helpless tourists. After another huge delicious breakfast I departed exactly at 8 am to check how long the airport trip took. The directions from the information booth yesterday seemed extremely simple. Use the Stockholm Card take public transportation to Marsta and bus 583 to the

Day 13 September 13	Another 3.86 pound breakfast of meat eggs pancakes yogurt fruit and juice packed a gazillion calories into the hatch for a long haul sightseeing day. On a Sunday the busses run infrequently. Waiting at first one bus stop another and another we just kept walking until we hit the Royal Palace which had not opened yet. Right behind the Palace is RiddarholmskyrkanRiddarh

Day 12 Saturday September 12	We have had many included breakfasts at hotels around the world usually hockey puck rolls cereal and juice tea or coffee. The Royal Viking had the BEST breakfast we have ever had. With more choices than a big balled black bull in a herd of horny Hereford heifers they even had a Japanese buffet besides the 100 foot regular buffet. We treated this as breakfast

Day 11 September 11	Besides being my Mother's 91st birthday we all remember the insane Muslim diseased creeps who flew into the World Trade Center in 2001. Imagine their surprise when instead of beautiful virgins they were greeted by the red stoker in hell not much different than their countries. We walked to the train station and got two tickets on the slow train for 204 NOK34. On th

Took a boat to the Royal Palace to see the changing of the guard but we had a wonderful surprise and an experience of a lifetime. We saw a simple changing of the guard not the usual pomp circumstance show and watched as King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia their children Crown Princess Victoria Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine walked to the opening day of parliament. What a love
