Pablo and I had planned to leave from Iguazu to Paraguay as we were supposed to be able to get our visas in the town but the friendly Paraguayan consulate man told us that he was no longer able to give visas from Iguazu so we would have to go to the consulate in the city of Posadas across the border of the Paraguayan city of Incarnacion. For this reason we found ourselves adding a stop in Pos

After a long bus ride we made it to the town of Iguazu. The landscape here in Misiones is beautiful 8211 the contrast of rustred earth and shades green are impressionistic The town is small and cute certainly supported mostly by tourism but less in your face and disneylandish than I expected for such a tourist destination. Pablo and I arrived on Monday early in the afternoon a quiet da

Sooo after a less than magical 26 hr bus trip from Rio DJ to Puerto Iguazu that included a changeover in Foz Iguazu freezing cabin temperatures bus companions with less than amicable gastronomy and an unexplained 1.5hr stop over in the middle of nowhere at 3am with all lights in the cabin on.
After a delightful overnight bus journey of 19 hours which amazingly wasnt too bad at all we arrived in Puerto Iguazu in the middle of a tropical storm at around 9am. Coming from the glitz and glamour of Buenos Aires this place is like a shanty town. Its really small the buildings are very simple the roads arent complete and theres really not much to do apart from the national park. After c

It is undoubtedly one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world. However I always dropped it from my itinerary at the last minute the reason is that it is far out from my usual routes of excursions Crdoba El Centro Mendoza San Juan El Cuyo and Pan

I arrived in Puerto Iguazu on Thursday 25 June and checked into a hostel near the bus station and then walked around the town all afternoon. The first thing I noticed was how much cheaper Argentina was compared to Brazil. I had lunch outside a restaurant with a 1 litre bottle of Quilmes lager which was great and very cheap. However the pizza was the worst I have ever had. I got back to the ho
