We arrived in Washington DC last night at the peak of the 500 traffic and slowly inched our way along 495 North know as the beltway to our KOA location outside of the city. The temperature has yet to dip below 95F and stuck in traffic it might as well have been over 100 It was a relief to get into our air conditioned cabin after another scorching day. We wonder if we will ever see rain a

So many white markers. We saw the Kennedy memorial with the eternal flame and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We really wanted to do the Moonlit Tour of the Monuments but it was sold out. No for not only did I know the area I would also be meeting my Marraine Chantal there. It's strange

We started out the day by missing the bus that we had planned to take to the Metro Station. Luckily there was another one going the same way 25 minutes later and we caught that one. We visited the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery to start our day. We witnessed the Changing of the Guard Ceremony which truly is memorable and I recommend it to anyone. Next was the Air and Space Museum.
