Today we drove down to Jenolan Caves we left the van in Katoomba as the road is too narrow and steep for caravans. It took us just over an hour to get down to the caves. We have not been to Jenolan Caves for many years. It was so lovely to return and walk through the Grand Arch. Today we toured the River Cave. This tour took 2 12 hours and was very interesting.
Ballarine Peninsula

Today decided to visit the Ballarine Peninsula as I had one day left of the car hire before I left for Adelaide. The drive took about an hour and twenty minutes. Visited both Queenscliff and Portarlington both very nice little sleepy seaside towns. I had thought about going on the ferry to Mornington Peninsula but by the time I got there it didn39t leave enough time as the ferry only goes once

A long passage to next safe anchorage its still blowing like crazy so we left 4am. Arrived at Morris Island 12 hrs later. Morris Island isnt an island as such more like a glorified sand bar However it has a large reef so once again even though the winds were very strong the sea was protected and calm and we were very comfortable. We didnt launch our Zodi at all as it was quite wet

From Flattery we moved on to Lizard Island We didnt do much for the first 2 days as it was still very windy and raining. On the first night we had sundowners with 2 couples off 2 other boats. Gary and Lyn from KicknBack and Bob and Helen from Makani Kai. Went for a walk to the other side of the island one day and just as we got to shore a massive downpour happened. Luckily we hadn39t start

Started off with meeting oldies en newbies in a hostel. Which meant in my case so many smiles and laughing about stories from Perth side seeing a friend I39ve met 7 years ago in Central America through whom I have a house now. So yup gone are the days of waiting to cook in a crowded kitchen searching for forks stolen food from your cubbie and flip flop showers. It all changed into having a

After leaving Warrambool set my GPS for Halls Gap decided to take the fastest route as it was going to be a two hour drive. Well it was an incredibly straight road so I couldn39t grumble about that and it obviously ran parallel to the main road but the surface Was awful in places and at times it went down to one lane of bumpy rough tarmac. The good thing was I think I was the only perso

Somehow I managed to get yet another puncture and this time in the new tyre and on sand. I think I have developed a new special talent. At least now we are all very adept at tyre changes and we are soon back underway. The great central road is a fairly dece

No doubt if we publicised the fact that it is due to our travelling the farmers and the community would be particulary thankful perhaps throwing money or at least inviting us back. This morning this strange thing in th
