Koh PhaNgan

... following 18 hours of trains boats and buses we arrived in Koh PhaNgan. The resort had a hamock on the porch and was situated in the plum centre of a white sandy beach surrounded by coconut trees. Most importantly the social environment was perfect here and we soon found ourselves among a great group of culturally open minded individuals Venkat Banksy Wozza Ray Charlotte Andrea Kasha

The last few days on Samui were spent chilling in preparation for the full moon. Samui is very nice but has become far too touristy in places the main town Chaweng is just like Magaluf. Visited the giant Buddha in the north of Samui which we drove to after hiring a 4x4 which cost less than 3 pound each a day.We caught a pretty packed ferry over to Koh Phangan and my god it wasn't a fun journ

After Sundays shenanigans I woke up early bells on Monday. Went down to the restaurant but they were just opening so thought to go back to my room for a little while. Fellback asleepbut at about 9.30 alex was banging down the door. I pretty much shouted at him to go away because the Changover was beginning to kick in. By 10.30 I felt I was going to die and slipped in and out of dreams where I was

Back to the Island

After the longest night ever the sun rose over the car park that we were sitting in. Ollie woke up and it was time to get on the boat again. I hadnrsquot slept all night I was either listening to my ipod or playing card games on my laptop. It was futile trying to play real cards as they kept blowing away. Eventually it was time to get onto the ferry. I was worried I was going to be sick

Before I start on our travels to Ko PhaNgan I forgot one Bangkok story which I've rightly been told off for. I mean what was I thinking One of the highlights of Bangkok was the fishfootmassage. As weird as this sounds it is. To keep it simple a very large fish tank that has been adapted to allow one to stick their feet in with relative ease i.e. whilst sitting down. The 100's of 'Dr F

It was the kind of clear water I've always dreamed of. Jumping in was like leaping into the world's largest fish tank as far as the eye could see in every direction were hordes of fish every shape and size. Giant schools of Baraccuda masses of Trevaly heaps of damsel fish and giant groupers circling them all. We were diving Sail Rock one of the premier dive destinations in the world the je

Full Moon Party and Kite Surfing

After Railay we hopped on a long tail boat that took us to a bus that took us to a ferry that took quite a few hours to Ko Phanang. We ended up sitting on a huge Boat in the VIP section which had comfy chairs a T.V and was only 1 more sweet . 1 12 bad movies and rough seas later we arrived at Ko Phan nang. The motivation to coming here was to kite surf and attend the full moon party madness.

Dear Thailand Minibus Driver Did you have a rough sleep last night I only ask because it looks like you're on your third Thai redbull and your hands are starting to shake. I know what it's like to not get much sleep and then have to drive a far distance the next day tough stuff. Perhaps thats why you seem to be driving our minibus at speeds in excess of 130 kmh average. Maybe you don'

How I Finally Became Exotic Among My Own TypeI just made up the title and admittedly I invented the morpheme Phags everything else though is taken from the beautiful Thai language. In one of the previous entries I wrote that I was suspended from a coconut tree. So many things have happened in the meantime I can hardly remember exactly why I did it. Anyway one day I decided to go to Bangkok and

We decided to stay in Hat Rin which is where the full moon party started. We thought about staying in Paradise Bungalows the home of the full moon party but the lonely planet didnrsquot give it the best review so gave it a miss. In hindsight I would have liked to stay there and will when I return to the Island. Ko Phangan was fantastic it was a lot more relaxed than Ko Samui it had a better

After taking Suzie back to Bangkok to catch her flight I met up with Robbie and Justin at Ko PhaNgan. We decided to go to a Full Moon Party while we were there as it would have been rude not to It was pretty crazy the beach was full of people partying and it was a good thing to see. The tunes were a bit ropey but the atmosphere was good and all of the people that we met were pretty cool.

One of the best beaches on the island with a few high price resorts and a couple small bungalows places. We stayed at My Way Bungalows very nice and cheap. Prices range from 250B to 900B.
