Day 3 or 4 I39ve lost track of spending 8 straight hours floating in the sea. In the shallows the water is hot and you have to swim a ways out before it cools down a bit. Little and notsolittle brightly colored fish swim past my toes. There39s little difference in temperature between the water and the air depending on where you are either the water is a cool break from the air or v

A lot of people have asked me how do you handle travelling alone This question or even this fear went through my mind as I left Europe behind because I had no idea . But the truth is I was never alone or lonely alone by choice sometimes but never lonely . You meet the most amzing people abroad both locals and other travellers all you got to do is talk to people and you find some most interest

We left Mukdahan and the Mekong river and decided to make our way south towards the sea. Surin was our destination a town that comes alive once a year for about 10 days when they celebrate a big Elephant festival there but for the rest of the year its a sleepy town. Unfortunately we arrived on the wrong road and after a long drive Terry did not want to drive a further 50 kilometers out on anot

Day 19. This morning we spotted a beautiful kingfisher in the trees see photo followed by a frog falling out of the folds of a sun parasol. It must be a climber to get up the pole but why it wanted to sleep in a parasol is anybody39s guess. After breakfast a splinter group set off to find the village fishing port. Down by the temple wat we found a cluster of buildings on stilts either side

Not planned to do a great deal today except to visit a restaurant that someone had recommended in the visitor39s book in the villa so it was a leisurely breakfast then swim and read kindles everywhere and sunbathe. One faction decided they would go for a walk and others decided they were mad as it was about 30 c

Day 17. A relaxed start for the team today followed by a 1015 departure to meet our speedboat at Chai Chet to take us on a short ride to Koh Rom island which has great significance for Norman Hazel as this was Bens favourite place and where two years ago they scattered his ashes. On arrival the anchor was dropped and Hazel swam with Ben. Flower petals were showered on the water. A few reflec
