After a delightful overnight bus journey of 19 hours which amazingly wasnt too bad at all we arrived in Puerto Iguazu in the middle of a tropical storm at around 9am. Coming from the glitz and glamour of Buenos Aires this place is like a shanty town. Its really small the buildings are very simple the roads arent complete and theres really not much to do apart from the national park. After c

SHOW NO FEAR As predicted the waterproofs did get another outing at the argentinian side of Iguazu We arrived at the national park where the falls are located to find it was gloriously sunny which made a change from the rather chilly overcast weather the day before. We set off on one of the trails leading to the waterfalls only to find....

During my previous trip to Argentina I had always wanted to go visit Cataratas Igauz which is known in English as the Iguaz fall. It is undoubtedly one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world. However I always dropped it from my itinerary at the last minute the reason is that it is far out from my usual routes of excursions Crdoba El Centro Mendoza San Juan El Cuyo and Pan

I arrived in Puerto Iguazu on Thursday 25 June and checked into a hostel near the bus station and then walked around the town all afternoon. The first thing I noticed was how much cheaper Argentina was compared to Brazil. I had lunch outside a restaurant with a 1 litre bottle of Quilmes lager which was great and very cheap. However the pizza was the worst I have ever had. I got back to the ho

Having taken it very easy in Sucre we geared ourselves up for a Sonic the Hedgehogstyle run from Sucre to Iguazu. First we flew from Sucre airport to Santa Cruz regional airport. We spent an afternoon in the Irish Pub on the main square and then found a hotel for the night. Next morning we made our way to Santa Cruz International airport outside of town for our flight to Asuncion that afternoo

Well as the title suggests there really isnt much to write about Iguazu falls and the national park its all about the photographic evidence. We went to Brasil to see the falls from their perspective the first day. The weather was not fantastic but we resolved to make the most of what we saw. The views were spectacular and we were certainly more than impressed with what we saw we returned to

Our border crossing was painless though we never got an exit stamp for Paraguay and in less that thirty minutes quickly detouring through Brazil we were in Argentina. With a world famous tourist attraction just down the road Puerto Iguazu gets a lot of tourists and has all sorts of accommodation. But we very blindly didn

We were flying in a type of plane we had never heard of before McDonnel Douglas dont they make burgers and we werent quite sure about the durability of the plane as it made some really strange noises that even Joe thought were odd.
