The town of Iguazu

After a long bus ride we made it to the town of Iguazu. The landscape here in Misiones is beautiful the contrast of rustred earth and shades green are impressionistic The town is small and cute certainly supported mostly by tourism but less in your face and disneylandish than I expected for such a tourist destination. Pablo and I arrived on Monday early in the afternoon a quiet day just

Sooo after a less than magical 26 hr bus trip from Rio DJ to Puerto Iguazu that included a changeover in Foz Iguazu freezing cabin temperatures bus companions with less than amicable gastronomy and an unexplained 1.5hr stop over in the middle of nowhere at 3am with all lights in the cabin on. Cata was later able to confirm from the heated conversation outside of the bus taking place in Portugue

Having finally made it out of Buenos Aires we arrived at the little town of Puerto Iguazu having taken the famous 'ejecutivo' overnight bus. And very nice it was too with comfy seats champagne and wine served the only shocker was the 2 hour long 80s music compilation video which they played. However after a few bevvies we were soon singing along. Puerto Iguazu itself is pleasant enough and is l

My first steps into Argentina but only for 2 days.

Ah I love it here.Arrived here yesterday. Took a little while to get through Border control but I now have a shiny Argentinian stamp in my passport. I wanted a whole day to see Iguazu falls so for the afternoon I went on a walk to see the three frontiers point where you can see Argentina Paraguay and Brazil all seperated by a river. I then went to La Aripuca whice is a set of native buildings.

The 1st Long Bus Rides

Saw both sides of BA last Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday we walked from San Telmo to La Boca which is a rough port area with a small well known art district in it the guide book says to take care if you're not in the main tourist area trying to be too smart and without a good enough map we found ourselves quite a way from the main tourist area. Got out again in one piece but it was a bit scary

Ok. So ya. Sorry about the wait on the post just been a busy couple of days. Right now I am a couple miles away from the most amazing water falls I could ever imagine. We are here in the town of Puerto Iguazu a small dirty town that now that it is in the off season we can tell just gets ransacked by tourist in their summer and then they leave and the people are just trying to live normal lives

I think it was probably easier for us to go with him than if we had done it by public transport as he knew the system really well and we were through both borders in less than 5

Unbelievable Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls stradles the National Border of Brazil and Argentina and there will always be controversy about which country provides the best view. In our opinion you should see both sides BUT if you only have one day... see it from Argentina. The Falls were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 and is currently on the list as one of the New Natural Wonders of the World. The Guarani le

Dont go chasing waterfalls

Unfortunately I was already on a bus bound for Puerto Iguazu before I remembered the above sage advice from TLC. I considered jumping off at the next stop but it was the middle of the night and I didnt really feel like it. By the time the bus arrived in Puerto Iguazu I wondered why I was ever considering taking the advice of a dodgy early 90s girl group over virtually everyone in the world w
