After hours more in the car we made it north to Acapulco. We walked the beach front near the resort hotels at sunset as the crowds left to see what the hype was all about. It seemed to be more of a party resort but not as bad as Cancun. The scenery was pretty but everyone clearing out left piles of trash all over the sand.Pablo called family friends who had a vacation home here and voila

We departed the Fairmont Acapulco Princess after a 3 day stay and took a taxi up the Costera Alleman to Las Brisas. It was unbelieveable to see all of the new construction that has taken place on this road since our last trip here in 2000.We turned right at the familiar white and pink wall entrance to Las Brisas and drove up the hill to reception. We were welcomed with their signature pink marga

We flew in on Aeromexico. I am still impressed by the seat comfort and service they provide on board. The cockpit staff and flight attendants are always friendly and cheerful. We breezed through immigration at the brand new terminal in Mexico City a big improvement over the old one. There were plenty of shopping eating and drinking diversions to keep us occupied for our 3hr. layover. We made

Day 2 was rather uneventful the plane arrived on time we left on time and landed in a typical day in Acapulco. 30 Degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We excaped the gouging taxis fares just to discover no taxis would pick us up on the road outside the Airport. We decided to take a local chicken bus complete with holes in the floors and no glass in the windows. The Woman in front of us skillf

THE WORLD AS SEEN FROM A SHIP

And so we are off on another worldly adventure. On May 16 we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge signaling the end of our 2008 world cruising. Six months later on November 16 we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge on our way to Los Angeles to begin our next round of cruising. We certainly enjoyed our time on terra firma and made several trips in the United States. We visited family and friends i

It was refreshing to be off the ship so early. We didnrsquot start back until about 2pm which was awesome. We went to have some food before getting off the ship. The fares are quite reasonable especially if you buy your flight tickets while you are in Mexico. You can always find great discount prices on fares as well Acapulco is an old city with picturesque bays on Mexico's Pacific coast. When we got on the taxi from the airport the rid

If Cuernevaca is the city of the Eternal Spring and as many down here claim the most beautiful and most forgotten city in all of Mexico they must never have been to Acapulco. After a week of intense and I say that with no exaggeration whatsoever spanish classes we all could use a break. Although the appeal of the sand and the sun would later turn out not as relaxing as expected our itinera

Along with a couple of people from Angela's Hostel we took the bus to Acapulco which was a 5 hour ride. We proved that we are hardcore backpackers by walking to the bus station in the heat of the midday sun. On hindsight this was probably not the best idea as it was really hot and by the end of it Kiki's face was red like a tomato for about an hour. Luckily it was not a sunburn but a case of over

Well we corrected our mistake and took a bus back to Acapulco yesterday. We are staying at a beach resort in the faded grandeur of old Acapulco...we are right on a little beach in a hotel that has seen better days but is clean and has a pool beach chairs although the Italian Canadians who are here en masse snag most of them at sunrise and a beautiful view.We are among the youngest people
