But the upside is the first part of my work day is taking teens out on a tour so at least Irsquom outside and enjoying the port.Todayrsquos teen tour took us by bus through Acapulco. The streets were so busy with everyone doing last minute holiday things and going to wherever they would spend the hol

This week our regular itinerary is switched around a bit. Usually when wersquore in Acapulco wersquore there from noon until 1am. With this itinerary itrsquos 6am5pm. The regular itinerary is perfect for crew like me who work late I can sleep in then have a full afternoon and early evening out before having to come back to work. So today it meant getting up early in order to get a

Today we were in the port of ZihautanejoIxtapa a sort of double port. Our ship pulls into a bay and we tender ashore into Zihautanejo. But the next bay over is Ixtapa and the two cities are pretty much connected. Zihautanejo is in many ways still developing. Itrsquos a bit rougher and itrsquos where many locals live. Ixtapa is very developed and is mainly lined with expensive resorts an

Irsquom slowly starting to fall into the routine of this latest ship. Though it always takes time to feel completely settled and at ease. All of the sea days on our current itinerary are really draining so when we finally get the break of a port day itrsquos tempting to just stay in bed all day But Irsquove been making myself get up and out.Yesterday we were in Acapulco and a group of u

We made it to Taxco on Wednesday afternoon after yet another long drive through the winding roads this time with lots of bathroom stops I think I have a kidney infection. There was another futbol game with Barcelona playing this afternoon with Silvia here we can't miss it We didn't have time to drive downtown to catch the game so we found a hotel near the road which incidentally had an

After hours more in the car we made it north to Acapulco. We walked the beach front near the resort hotels at sunset as the crowds left to see what the hype was all about. It seemed to be more of a party resort but not as bad as Cancun. The scenery was pretty but everyone clearing out left piles of trash all over the sand.Pablo called family friends who had a vacation home here and voila

March 12 09 Thaddeus and I pulled into Troncones at 530 in our rented Nissan all boards accounted for. Saw a few waves breaking at the Troncones T as we pulled into the little town. A right turn took us to Casa Delfin Sonriente where we had booked a week for this our first trip. Glen the owner checked us in and recommended we surf on the beach out front of the Casa for glass off and so w

I did so many cool things.I went para sailing sailing ate raw oysters off the beach swam through coral and slept on the beach And ah the beach The trip was really affordable as well.
We departed the Fairmont Acapulco Princess after a 3 day stay and took a taxi up the Costera Alleman to Las Brisas. It was unbelieveable to see all of the new construction that has taken place on this road since our last trip here in 2000.We turned right at the familiar white and pink wall entrance to Las Brisas and drove up the hill to reception. We were welcomed with their signature pink marga

We flew in on Aeromexico. I am still impressed by the seat comfort and service they provide on board. The cockpit staff and flight attendants are always friendly and cheerful. We breezed through immigration at the brand new terminal in Mexico City a big improvement over the old one. There were plenty of shopping eating and drinking diversions to keep us occupied for our 3hr. layover. We made

We got back on the bus and continued on to Lazaros Cardenas where we walked 1 block and immediately caught a bus to Zihuatanejo. It was a long day of riding the winding coastal highway 200. We excaped the gouging taxis fares just to discover no taxis would pick us up on the road outside the Airport. We decided to take a local chicken bus complete with holes in the floors and no glass in the windows. The Woman in front of us skillf
