We purchased 24hour metro tickets for 3 euro and hopped on the rails to the Acropolis stop. The ferry was scheduled to leave at 1150 the hotel manager assured us we needed to be driving by 1015. Because the port was 10 minutes away and they don't really bother with anything like security we had about an hour to kill while we waited to board the ship.
