43 days and counting. I've decided that 20 minutes is just too short a time to try to change planes in San Juan PR. So I'm going to spend the night in Old San Juan on my way down to Bequia. I visited San Juan once before but it was only for a couple of hours one night on a cruise stop. After searching everywhere from Old San Juan to the beaches of Condado I've decided to stay at a pl

Good MondayIts 71 days and counting till I leave for Bequia. Many of you have been asking where Bequia is and how do I get there. Well from Dallas I fly to San Juan. In San Juan PR I have only 20 minutes to try and make my LIAT Leeward Island Air but with only carry on baggage I hope to make it. If not I will spend the night in San Juan and catch the next day's flight. From San Juan I

We arrived in the Tobago cays around 1000 hours. I cannot start to describe this area. Best way Pete could express himself was saying it looked like atolls. It is just beautiful. You have the atlantic ocean with a huge reef in front of us and 3 very small islands. The reef goes for miles....It is a little tricky coming in here. We plan to be here overnight and maybe tomorrow as well. Weather perm

We arrived in Bequia around 2 pm. The port side lower shroud guy wire started to unwind while we were underway. I saw it before anyone else told Dad to not put pressure on it. And this darn rigging is new and by a professional that tells the story. We are trying to make repairs now. The chandeliers here have nothing and no riggers.so goes the story of the islands...All is well we have new prod

This is paradise. Bequia has a little of everything including sheep's and goats. People are very friendly food is good steel bands were great. There is a Turtle haven. We went as a group in another of the mini van tours. This one was arranged by me. They have Hawksbill and Green Turtles a few land ones. The procedure is to get them as they are hatching they put them in tanks feed them canned

The last few days have been spent on the island of Bequia the most northern of the Grenadines. The local history revolves around ship building and whaling although nowadays there are only one or two whales caught each year and the only ships built are model ones. It is a beautiful place and I explored the main streets of the little town looking in all the craft shops and discovered the coast

Going to school and living on board a boat provide a whole new set of challenges to both the students and the teachers imagine trying to do your homework with your desk pitching and rolling with the seas or fitting all your clothes in a small shelf by your bunk. In the past sailing boats were extremely cramped places with sailors lined up in hammocks swinging back and forth and no private spa

It has been a busy few days since I last wrote to you. We spent 2 days in Grenada enjoying the history and scenery of the islands. The inlands of Grenada are covered in lush rainforest which is amazing considering that a hurricane devastated the island only 2 years ago. Apparently when the storm hit it took all the roofs off the houses and uprooted trees across the hillsides. The island is de
