The west coast of Vancouver Island is one of the wetter places in Canada. During any visit one should expect rain. I was prepared to have rain during my time there but the rain had cleared up just after I arrived. The forecast had actually called for some form of rain. But it never materialized. The night passed with no rain and in the morning I awoke to a beautiful day. I got up at the ridicul

I started out in Victoria again. Took the bus to Langford and from there it was hitch hiking. I wanted to make it to Sproat Lake and go camping at least once while I was in Canada I even had bought some gas for my stove so I would almost say I was prepared. Which is a big thing to say for someone who once went hiking in the mountains in jeans doc martens a muesli bar and no light for two days..

We arrived in time to walk about a bit and then had Sushi for dinner and then back to the camper and sleep. We parked on the street as Ben had s

On my way to Tofino I offered a ride to a native American man called Sayachapis Matthew Williams by his colonial given name. This ride was the beginning of a unique encounter and an unforgettable travel experience. During the drive Sayachapis offered me to stay on his own little island near Tofino called Indian island. I finally ended up staying for two days on Indian Island enjoying the most

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful we must carry it with us or we will not find it. Ralph Waldo Emerson The ferry to Vancouver Island was much larger than I imagined. The ferries I had taken in the US on the East coast were much smaller. This one had a coffee and gift shop onboard and 5 decks for cars. The ride was about an hour and half and I just sat and read my
