What's with all the dog crap

I live in the dog shit capital of the world. The French call it le crottin de chien but a rose by any other name so to speak. The owners give their pooches carte blanche and for the rest of us it's like a game of minesweeper out there. You can always pick out the ones who are going to leave it. They have a preemptive look of guilt about them and their eyes dart back and forth to keep a l

My goodness how the time flies when all you do is eat cheese and drink wine. I am approaching the end of month one in Chambry fat as a Christmas goose. I have joined a gym to counteract the effects but the food here is just so damn GOOD. Suspiciously good even. I'm going to be spoiled rottenmy lean cuisines may not cut it when I get back.My French is....improving I'm asking you becaus

Staying put

I feel...strange. I'm not...moving. I'm not in a different town every day living out of my larva shaped backpack. I'm not stealing individually portioned jams to eat with my baguette later on. I'm...still.I arrived in Chambery on Sunday night after another disasterous EZ Jet flight. And after telling the man who manages the student apartments that I am more comfortable with English for import

Chambery

We rode from Tortona to Chamberry. abut 100 km to Torino another 100Km to Frejus through the tunnel and the French border is announced within the tunnel by a sign then 100Km down to Chamberry. Riding conditions were good but Ashley will say more on that. Scenery spectacular. We have found a nice hotel but it has no internet. I'm not sure where last night's connection came from I think i

It's like saying that I like my hometown in Innisfail when really I love our old home a farm 5 minutes from Innisfail in my memory and heartwarmingly also in Raphael's one of the best places that ever was and ever will be do I love the main street filled with people who live in Innisfail ugh not so much.So to be more accur

I didnrsquot plan my trip to Annecy. It was the excitement of not knowing what to expect that thrilled me. I took a bus from Geneva and the journey lasted for one and the half hour. Annecy is a city in the RhneAlpes RnoArpes region of east central France it is on the shores of Lake Annecy and 22 miles south of Geneva. You know that you are about to cross the border when an uniformed offic
