I returned to my hostel after 5am and carefully opened the room door so as not to wake up my roommates. After having fun for a night I only slept for four hours and my eyes were so dry that I couldn't wear contact lens. I had a simple breakfast in the pantry where I learnt from a Taiwanese girl that there were expensive tickets selling outside the stadium yesterday I could have watched an e

I went away in 2007 for 8 months. Saying goodbye was an odd affair goodbye for so long but not forever. The worst goodbye was my parents. I'd already said farewll to my Big Brother when we dropped him off and it was such a mad and confusing affair that goodbye was pretty quick and pretty uneventful. Saying goodbye to my Mum and Dad while they waved from the doorway to the Departures lounge was t

It was then off to Manchester a shame to leave our relatives so soon as a fantastic time was had. We managed to score a great 2 bedroom apartment for dirt cheap in a suburb full of Rabbirsquos. But Jen was happy as there was a TESCO right around the corner. Luckily the car never got stolen. A tour of the Manchester United Stadium was a must with the Super Store so large we nearly all got los

Since Greg is on vacation for a few weeks we decide to go up north to visit his parents and visit the near by cities. Our first stop in Manchester. Nothing spectacular it's a regular cosmopolitan city much to my disappointment. Mind you we didn't visit the whole city.... We basically went to the shopping area of Manchester. The weather was so nice so instead of walking in the Biggest mall in Eng

Hey everybody Well yesterday I went to Manchester really early in the AM. I met Greg my old roommate from Vernon. I used to rent a room at his house and he's recently moved to Manchester for a period of time to work. One of his other friends from Vernon came along as well he'd just arrived off a flight at 7am So it was a bit of a tiring day but we had fun...it didn't rain all day long bu

Well ive decided to write a blog of the preperations we are putting into place for what is being known as the eppic journey Lets start at the beginning where everything starts.
When the Easter break rolled around this year we were still recovering financially from our trip home and the road trip through Ireland. As such we had decided that we couldn't afford to do any trips away but instead would try and do a small overnight trip somewhere in England that we hadn't been. As the break got nearer and we became more and more jealous at everybody else who had planned a tr

525600 minutes ... How do you measure a year

The build up to this journey has created a curious number of lists and countdowns for both of us. The lists are numerous and scattered all over our house some being added to daily some just being rewritten every so often in neater script thus providing us with a sense of doing something while actually just internally procrastinating. The countdowns however are proving more interesting emotion

Here we are two passionate people in search of an adventure. This a story taking us from our little house in Manchester to far flung and wonderful places that we had so far only dreamed about. It's a story where we find out more about ourselves as individuals and where our limits may or may not be as well as story of two people coming closer together than they thought possible.Unlike many stories

SO......we have three weeks to go and loads and loads of things still to buy and organise so we are expecting our hard earned savings to deplete somewhat over the next 21 days in the run up to our departure. Still ... woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo only two and a half weeks of work to go thats about 13 actual work days and then we are off into the unkown for 6 months of adventure. Who knows what
