The FJ on the beach. Finally a little bit of offroading!!!
We woke up to a beautiful day in Astoria, Oregon. Since we were up fairly early, we decided to go to the beach and enjoy the morning watching the ocean. On our way there we found a bakery where we bought some nice pastries and coffee. We then drove on to the beach where we had breakfast, watching the beautiful ocean. After breakfast we drove for a couple miles on the beach and then played around with the car in some loose sand, it was quite fun!

We were then off to the state of Washington, to Mt St Helen's, an active volcano. The drive there was quite long but well worth it. Lava, ashes and proof of recent activity are everywhere, including the still smoldering crater. Also of interest was the nearby lake (Meta Lake?) where thousands of dead tree trunks still float since the volcano last erupted.
