I am a bit tempered already to the humidity and heat, the last PlanetMagpie trip to North Carolina I can thank for that but it still hits you like a brick wall in this place. We shuffle through customs, get our bags, and grab a shuttle to our first hotel Chateau de Bangkok. Which much to our surprise is right behind the Conrad Hotel on Wireless road which for some reason I have stuck in my head as a reference point. I’ll thank Captain Poddy from PodAsia for that one. But it have to say listening to all our podcasts and reading peoples blogs have really allowed us to hit the ground running, we knew exactly where to go, and how to get there.

Ah Bangkok, I’m sure Kirsten will be much better at explaining what its like to see this city with new eyes but for me it is amazing being back. This city roars, and definitely hits you with sensory overload. We check in with out a hitch and our room is immaculate, it even has a Jacuzzi tub and a small kitchen.
