Edit Blog Post
We're back in Tunbridge Wells, England, hoping to make a few bucks before setting off for the next leg of our journey (France, Sapin, Italy). We've been hopping all over the place and very busy, so there hasn't been much time for e-mailing/blogging,etc. But we promise that there will be some catch-up time dedicated to the blog shortly 😊
In the meantime, I have a message for all of my fellow St. Petersburgers. As you probably know, tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 5th) is the primary election in our neck of the woods, and my uncle Jack Day is running for Circuit Judge, Group 45. Because he is running against only one other person, tomorrow's votes will establish who takes the position.
I'm going to include the link to his web page so that you can take a look at his qualifications, endorsements, etc. (LEARN BEFORE YOU VOTE!! WITH PRIVILEDGE COMES RESPONSIBILITY!!) But on a personal level, I want you to know why he's one of my favorite people in the world, and why I know he deserves to be judge.
Jack was born in raised in St. Pete and, like all of our family, is proud of where he comes from. He is smart, compassionate and he always has a way of making me feel thoroughly loved and cared for when I least expect it.
He dances with me at family gatherings and sings and plays the guitar, and he'll finish what's on your plate when you've had enough.
He takes football in the South seriously, and his face gets red when he laughs really hard.
If you sit around with him at the dinner table, he'll challenge your thinking and make you look deeper into subjects you may have hardly ever contemplated. He listens to your opinions, and you can watch his face as he examines what you've said.
He has a tidbit of knowledge for every situation, and even though I may have pretty much ignored him when I was younger (sorry...but, you know), I appreciate what he has taught me through the years. He is an inate teacher (I wish he'd teach me how to spell inate...innate...), and I've missed him as I've traveled. I know more than many people, he would appreciate the things we're doing.
Here's what the St. Pete Times (who STRONGLY reccomend him) said about him:
"Jack Day, 57, is the clear choice in this race. Day is a seasoned litigator whose experience far outshines that of his opponent, Robert "Bo" Michael."
The Trib said:
"...Day is the better all-around candidate. His extensive experience, certifications and previous nominations for judgeships clearly illustrate that, and he has a statesmanlike demeanor - qualifications that make for an excellent jurist."
Jack is also endorsed by five other very important political lobby groups (I'm not sure if that's the correct terminology, so I apologize if I messed up my wording here).
His web-site is www.dayincourt/us/day, where you can find out more information.
So, can you tell he's awesome? Well, HE IS!! Vote for Jack Day tomorrow, for Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Group 45.
Okay ya'll, talk to you soon (and I apologize that this is sort of like a political ad).
