Yesterday was a busy day with its ups & downs. Tropical Palms provided a "Farewell Breakfast" for the last of us "long termers" who still remain. Do you think they call us stragglers? Just a few tables of friends left to gather together to wish each other well as they plan their trips home. The Spring, Summer & Fall months will pass before we meet again. It seems so far away. Kind of sad....but it provides us with something good to forward to. We shall leave on April 22nd. Some of our friends leave this week, some next, some aren't sure. Safe travels to all! Our day progressed into a full and fun one as we met up with our family and went to Universal Studios. Cory purchased 3-Day passes so this adventure will be repeated two more times. On this day, we all went to the Universal Studios Park so we could stay late and watch the Mardi Gras Parade. It is still as beautiful as ever but I'm still yearning to be able to ride one of the floats and toss the beads....next year? Pleeeease! The bead throwing/ catching is still as wild & frantic as always....so much effort for cheap, plastic beads. During the day, the kids all went their merry ways to ride on as many of the big rides that they could. Lory, Kim & I went on the ET ride (my favorite) while the guys found their pleasure spot at Homer Simpson's DUFF'S bar. Something for everyone! We moseyed along past all the glorious attractions and found our comfy spot at Finnegan's Bar & Grill to wait out the arrival of the parade. Cory & I have kind of made this "our place". The libations provided an easy pastime as well as "people watching". You see it all here and they are not all just the fantasy characters....they are real people. Yikes. I'm amazed at the number of people who have tattoos.....and big and colorful ones, not just a little butterfly! Yikes! The acoustics in the park is deafening. Doesn't matter if you are inside a place or outside....the music just pounds. Cory has to turn his hearing aides off it is so loud. I guess it is meant to make everything seem so festive but they could turn it down a few decibels and no one would mind. My next purchase will be earplugs for our next visit. Huh? Homeward bound after the parade through the monster masses of people and finally the thousands of exiting cars.....it makes Wellsville look like a ghost town in comparison. I'm looking forward to the serenity of our old ghost town....life is good there. I don't have to ride with my toes curled up, my eyes squeezed shut and my breath held all the time. The horrible traffic here makes me so nervous and I'm not even driving. Good Grief, Charlie Brown! Just suck it up!
