We've just left the Pueblo El Mirage RV Resort and will spend a month in Goodyear, AZ. Tom is feeling better. We golfed nine holes last week, with our new friends from Ontario, Steve and Sandra. It is too bad the winter passed without more time with these two. They are fun folks. This was Tom's first activity since Thanksgiving and he was happy to be outside. Yes, we had a golf cart.

The Grand Canyon Arizona State Pickleball Tournament was hosted by our park (the third largest in the world we were told.) Tom and I enjoyed watching some of it. One of my teachers, Anne, played in it and so it was fun to cheer her on!

Just after arriving in Goodyear we were delighted that friends Joyce and Herb, from our 2013 Casa Grande winter made the drive up to visit us. Great lunch at The Black Bear. The following week the four of us golfed 9 holes and then met Margaret and Daryl, also friends from Casa Grande, for lunch. How great to meet so many friendly upbeat folks in our travels.

Luke Airforce Base held a "public appreciation" airshow and Tom was excited to attend. Nostalgic for him as his career took him to Luke many times with Dave Wagner. However, we found the walk from the parking lot to the base was too far to walk. Guess what--those planes flew right over the parking lot! Since it hasn't rained here for 3 months it was a dusty day, but a happy one.

We didn't want to leave Goodyear without attending a Cleveland Indians Spring Training game. There was a shuttle to the beautiful stadium. They played the Cinncy Reds and blew them away! The place was full of young families and young boy-dreamers. What fun!

This week we move to Surprise, Arizona to investigate Happy Trails RV Resort, a place we've heard so much about. One month there, get an "all clear" from the doctor for Tom, and onto Verde Valley in May. BTW, any of you that know Carl and Leona, please help me in my campaign to foster their Keeshond, Kelsey, while they take a cruise this Fall. Honest, we'll return her! Springtime
Great to hear that you are both well and Tom is feeling better. I used to watch the Cleveland Indians when I was a kid. At that time their winter training was in Tucson. Brings back fun memories. Glad they are still in Arizona. Love to see your pictures. Safe Travels and May God Bless.

Thanks, Guys!
Again, thanks for sharing your RV travel experiences. The pickleball tournament sounded exciting. We've been playing pretty regularly here at Whitney, since the weather has been decent, 2-3 days/wk. And Ellen Dyer has been here since January, which has helped. She's like our PB instructor, has helped teach a lot of us, including me. It would be fun to be able to have tournaments in our area, or somewhere in Texas. Sounds as if you two are enjoying life--good for you!
