Muay Thai 1
The fast and the furious, no room for whimps Time for some updates..
Hey there one and all. I know we've been a bit quiet for the last week or so, but I must admit we ahve been super busy on adventures all around Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas... so what I'm gonna do is some backdating so that the events we write about are actually in some kind of chronological order... and with full colour pics!!
Woohoo! I hear you say.. tell me about it. There's been some rollercoaster rides but we've finally got the technology to keep you posted.
So just quickly, after arriving in Chiang Mai we spent the arvo getting a new camera and then headed out to an evening of Muay Thai boxing. It was pretty exciting i must say (see pic of Andrew who was so caught up in the fever he wouldn't sit still for a photo)
There were about 9 fights all up with the majority lasting 5 rounds apart from the first fight (the 28kg category) that were essentially 9 year old kids, and the 80kg category that were just fat bastards that couldn't keep it going for a full 5 rounds.

Rumble on the ropes uses the feet and knees mostly, so heaps of kicks on the shins, and gut wrenching impacts. The Thai's go nuts over it, with bets flying left right and centre (we were smart enough never to bet against a thai, but had a few cheap ones amongst the pharang)
It was thoroughly enjoyable I must say, and found myself screaming along with Richards.
A fairly early evening though as the next day we headed treking.....
