Hoi An is a beautiful old town with lots of history and relatively quiet and not as touristy as I expected. We started the morning off early with a great breakfast at the hotel by the river and then we headed off into town.

First stop was to the tailors to organise a dress for me, where I had to jump on the back of a motorbike to be taken to the tailors for a measure up. That was great fun and I wanted her to keep riding and take me around the town but looks like I will have to wait till I get my own bike in Sapa.

After the dress we found a shoe shop where the girl was a fantastic salesperson who cornered me and I ended up ordering a pair of boots. At 11.00am in the morning and then I picked them up at 7.00pm in the evening! Amazing service and the boots are fantastic.

Poor Peter, having to follow Robyn and me around while we shopped so in the end we stopped for a drink along the river and ate, more spring rolls. My favorite!!

Then it was off to the market to check out all the fresh food and wander through all the interesting stalls. It was hot though, and soon we were all desperate for another drink, tried finding a favorite restaurant of Peter's but gave up after walking up and down the street three times. We had more food then and did some people watching while we gathered our strength for the trip home.

When we got back to the resort we made our way across to the beach and all had a nana nap after a swim in the warm water. Such a hard life, but someone has to do it. Of course when we woke up we had to have a cocktail on the beach, Tequila Sunrise being the drink of the day, not Pete of course he is sticking to his 333 beer.

After a relaxing afternoon on the beach we got ready and went back into town for dinner at Mermaid Restaurant, which is the first restaurant opened in Hoi An, opened in 1992 and the food was wonderful. Think I have spent most of the day just looking at food, eating food and thinking about food!!

At breakfast
back after picking up the boots, bought some chocolate of course and now its time for bed. Sadly I am off to Hanoi tomorrow, not enough time with Robyn and Peter but enough time to know that I would love to come back to Hoi An in the future for more exploring.
