This morning we got up early as we had heard that the bridge opens at 9.30am to allow access for the houseboats and we wanted to watch the bridge go up. The houseboats then need to negotiate Lock 5 on the Murray River. There are 13 Locks along the Murray (I did not know that we had Locks on the Murray). I was quite excited and looking forward to seeing a houseboat pass through the Lock.

We were so lucky, when we spoke to the man who operates the Lock he said it has been very quiet and that, on some days, no boats are passing through the lock; but today there was a boat. YAY!

It was all very interesting and operated by a little hand remote control. We had a lovely chat to the fellow who was operating the Lock.

We had some morning tea and set off to look at Customs House which is up near to where the three borders meet, NSW, SA and Vic.

We called in to a lookout and took some great photos of the Murray and the red cliffs. We were so thrilled to have found this lookout.

When we arrived in Wentworth set up the van and quickly went for a drive, before dark, to view the place where the Darling River flows in to the Murray River.

Robert has noticed that one of the wheels, on the van, has a bit of a lean to it. We shall have to get it checked out tomorrow when we will be in the larger town of Mildura.

We went to the Club for dinner tonight. Surprisingly, the little town of Wentworth has a huge and beautiful club. We enjoyed a lovely roast dinner, very nice.
