Sorry the late listing. I have had no access to the net and in fact I am not even sure if this listing will show as the net access I am using is some old-fashion thing called "dilup" apparently! Anyway, I flew rather uneventfully home with my recently injured (possibly broken metatarsal) foot and passed through Joburg in my shortest ever visit to South Africa.

One thing worth of note is that Joburg International has, as well as the normal international duty-free and obligatory African curio shops, a small place (turn left after passport control) where you can get a 20 or 30-minute chair massage! I highly recommend this as a way to kill half an hour and prepare for your long haul flight back to London! (Just dont trust the women who work there to give you a fair appraisel of your chances of making your flight when you are trying to decide whether you have time for a massage or not! Needless to say, I had to run (hobble-run) to my flight!)

Anyway, when I get back to some real internet access I will post some more pictures from Tanzania (including Ngorongoro) that are really worth seeing.

I am headed to Canada in a week or so (Dan, my phone is still not working again but I will call you in the next day or so) and may do a quick driving tour in Europe before I catch my flight... I will, of course, keep you posted!

Where are you now?
I also am relying on dialup in Uganda to keep track of you and others. Not easy, is it? The Ugandans are astonished when I explain about broadband and being permanently on line. And to use GoogleEarth to plot a drive from Vancouver to Kelowna, including weather reports. Here you look at the sky and say 'oh, its raining today, better not travel, the potholes will be flooded.'
