Today Rowena and I were heading to Bribey Island for a bbq which all of Rowena and Matt’s group of friends were going to. Matt was away for the weekend so he wasn’t coming. As always I was awake fairly early so spent some time booking my flights to Sydney for next week so I could witness the Australia day celebrations there, and also see the city!

With flights all booked and Rowena up and about we made our homemade burgers, potato salad and normal salad to take along before hitting the road. I am getting quite used to driving on the ‘freeways’ out here, endless long straight roads! The island was beautiful, parkland with tiny little beaches dotted along, and a wide channel of sea water. When we arrived and the guys were already up to their waists fishing in the sea, and the Amelia and Cheryl were chatting on the beach, so we joined them. We all had a swim in the water and before long the bbq’s were on and we were all tucking into some yummy lunch.

After lunch we spent several more hours lazing on the beach, floating around in the water and relaxing, heading home around 4.30pm. Rowena was feeling rather lethargic after our day so we had a relaxing evening with a few ciders and a girly chick flick film.
