While we usually head south for Thanksgiving, this year daddy decided it was time to visit friends and relative in Southern California. We had not been back for over 3 years, for the wedding of a cousin, so it was time.
To fit in as much as possible, we left very early Wednesday morning and flew to Los Angeles. We rented a car, and I asked for a red one, and the nice guy gave us a red car. We drove to Thousand Oaks, but on the way daddy decided to stop at the Bangkok Airways office on the way as they only have 3 offices in the USA and none in Florida. He was glad he did as they helped him book 3 tickets for this summer's trip to Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand on a "discovery air pass".
We arrived in Thousand Oaks in the early afternoon. This was the city that Daddy spent over 15 years of his life. We went straight to his high school buddy's house, Brian. I was really happy when I got there because they had a boy who was just 1 year younger than me, Drew and a really nice dog
named Sugar.
We did not stay long as we were hungry and Daddy had wanted to go to where they ate lunch about 3-4 times a week during high school - a small Mexican restaurant called Manny's. Daddy and I shared one of their awesome Carne Asada Burritos with their delicious hot sauce and chips. It was Sooooo Goood. I could tell why Daddy came here so often.
We then passed Daddy's High School, Thousand Oaks Hight School, and went to where Daddy went to elementary school - Acacia. We hopped the fence and played in the playground for an hour or so. It was so much fun and was so cool to play where daddy went to school.
We then went around the corner where he lived for so many years. It was Dorset Street. We took some pictures by his old house and then visited some neighbors who still lived there, the Ericksons. I had fun discussing "1 Direction" with Janice's daughter. We are both big fans.
Then back to Brian's and we made some Pizzas, I played with Drew and Sugar, while Daddy had brought some wine and drank it with Drew's
mom and Dad. Another one of Daddy's High School Frieds, Michael Yanuzzi, also stopped by.
We had a lot of fun that night, but early the next morning it was time to leave as we were to see a lot of family for Thanksgiving. I am sure I wil be back to "TO".
