Flight 93 I only have a couple things to say about this Memorial as the signs about the event tells the whole story just in case you don't remember it. (try double clicking on the photos to make them large enough to read.) We were there about 10 days prior to the 10th anniversary and the Park was getting ready for that event. The day was really, really hot and I sat on a bench while Valerie walked out into the field.
We had expected the field to be a cornfield as it had been described in the news, but it was covered over a vacant strip-mined coal hill that had some hemlock trees growing along the edges. The Memorial is an open pavilion in this field with a large boulder marking the point of impact. The impact area is fenced off and only the family members may go there; all the victims are buried there in a mass grave. Plans have been made to plant 40 sections of 40 hemlock trees on the Memorial land.
This Pennsylvania site is the only one where the FBI could gather information about who the terrorists of 9/11 were as enough
of the plane was left to be examined. The 40 victims were true heroes as they VOTED to take down these hi-jackers knowing they would most likely be killed by doing so.

Sobering. Nice memorial. Good one to post on Veteran's Day as a reminder to remember all the ones who are not soldiers but also give their lives for the rest of us.
