The brotherhood of Christ is a global community. The apostle Peter urged Christians to: “Love the brotherhood” (1 Peter 2:17). The more we learn about faithful Christians in different places the easier this becomes. A blog such as this can help us “see” more of our spiritual family. Love among brethren ought to be the recognizable virtue which identifies the disciples of Jesus. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35). For “he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen” (1 John 4:20).

Many of you have followed the Jensen journey via this medium over the last five years. With very mixed emotions we left the African mission field. We miss our Tanzanian brethren and life in that land.

We believe God has opened this door of opportunity for us to serve in Kentucky. God always knows best. Hawesville, Kentucky is situated on the Ohio River just about a half hour drive east of Owensboro. There is a bridge which gives easy access to Tell City, Indiana. Tell City has a population of about 10,000. The Hawesville

church of Christ was established in the year 2,000 and has members from both Kentucky and Indiana. Thanks to the generosity of caring Christians the nice building, including the two year old fellowship hall addition, is held debt free.

We invite our readers and supporters to peruse this blog entry to take a pictorial tour of Hawesville. You will see the Ohio River bridge and the tug pushing barges laden with coal (yes “tugs” push, they don’t pull the barges up and down the river). You will see some pictures of Vastwood Park which is near the church building. The church building is in a prime location right on Highway 60. A mere ten minute drive from the building and one can be in Tell City. You will see the home where we are now living. It is a converted pole barn that is just 10 minutes from the church building. This two bedroom home with a small office is adequate for our needs.

We are still trying to finalize our financial support for our work here. The local congregation is giving what support they can. Congregations in Kentucky and Tennessee are lending help also. We have not contacted many of you before now, because we were inquiring first from ones who already were supporting this work. Some of you, who helped us inTanzania, have already agreed to continue your help. Thank you. We would love to hear from you.

We have been having a number of visitors in recent weeks and have seen some returning to services who have not attended in some time. Please pray for the Jensen family as we embark upon this new challenge for spreading the saving message of Christ.

In Christ’s service,

George & Joy

Greetings
Hey George, Joy and family; Great to hear from you. The photos looked very familiar. I've held a couple of meetings at Haweville and Brenda has done a ladies day. I grew up in Indiana about 50 miles north of there so it is familiar territory. I pray your work goes well. Rod
