Two weeks to go before we set off on our adventure and we are just about all planned up. The leech socks arrived last week although I haven't plucked up the courage to try them on yet - they aren't the most fetching things in the world but needs must! Accommodation is booked in Kualar Lumpur, Singapore (both hostels) and also in Kota Kinabalu (hotel) and flights are also booked. We have decided not to travel to Singapore via the overnight train after all, instead opting for another night in Kuala Lumpur and getting a flight down the following morning. It takes less than an hour on the plane so it makes more sense. Our hostel in Kuala Lumpur is in the China Town district and it looks fab. On the evenings they have walks around the area where they show you the best street places to eat. Should be really good and give us the opportunity to eat where the locals eat. Always advised! We still need to sort out our itinerary for Kuala Lumpur - although we are definitely going to try and get up on the Bridge that connects the Petronas Towers.

There seems to be a long list of things we'd like to do and see in Singapore. One of the highlights is the new Gardens where giant electronic trees light up the skyline and then there is a night safari at the zoo. And then of course we may have to fit it a couple of Starbucks and some retail therapy in :o)

Again we need to sort out our itinerary for Borneo. I think we'll need a couple of days to chill out on a nice beach to get over our busy time in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We both got walking shoes rather than take our boots as a trip out in boots resulted in very hot feet! So ventilated shoes it is ;o)

For our last night in Malaysia before I fly home and Neil takes himself off to Tokyo (to sleep on the airport floor ;o) we've booked Atmosphere 360 so should get some great panoramic shots of Kuala Lumpur.

So not a huge amount left to do now. Although having said that I really do need to start thinking about when I really need to take and when can be left at home. Perhaps this is the biggest job of all!

Singapore
Hello, just another point....you really should go to the Botanic gardens in Singapore- I have some piccies on FB from them, they have amazing Orchids- we did it without a tour. Then there was another park (where people do outside bootcamp- SO HUMID!) where there was an evening concert going on. It was on the top of Orchard Road and really really beautiful. And finally............beware the Starbucks they have weird jelly coffee stuff at the bottom!
