Day 46: Munich to Atlanta to Kansas City to Andy!

We got up at 6, ate at the breakfast buffet at the hotel, and packed up. The shuttle picked us up at 7:00 am (midnight Kansas time). We went through security and waited to board the plane. Gary bought Johnny Walker Blue scotch with some extra euros (need to use them up somehow).



The plane was on time. The ride was 10.5 hours to Atlanta. We went through customs, but the “smelling dog” pawed at my backpack. It turned out the poppy seeds that I picked on our walk from the Munich airport hotel were NOT allowed. So we went through the agricultural section of customs and the seeds went in the trash.



We caught the flight to KCI, landed early, got our bags and were shuttled to Gary’s car. We went to Children’s Mercy Hospital to see my new adorable grandson, Andy!!! What a beautiful baby!



We made it home by 9 pm, had a glass of wine on the deck, and crashed.



All is well at home. My wonderful friends have watered my plants and nursed them through the 100+ degree heat, and they look great. I have unpacked, done laundry, paid bills, and deposited my overworked suitcase in the trash! What a great trip!!!!!!
