going out to hear some live music. Nate's friend and his band from Alaska playing at a local bar. game on. After camping and a couple weeks of soaking up boy time I decided to go back down to Eugene and stay with Caitlin in her spare room, aka the Diva Den. My plan was to enjoy a retreat/cleanse week and some Girl Time! Don’t get me wrong, the boy time was incredibly fun. I realized my affinity for hanging with boys probably stems from my upbringing with two older brothers. Oh how I reminisced about my childhood, longing for the random adventures my brothers and I used to have, missing them terribly, only to realize that it will never be like that again.
Moment of silence please. : D
OKAY. After getting my fill of rock climbing, enjoying home cooked meals inspired by their Paleo diets, wrestling, liar's dice, whiskey and even having them fold my laundry (yes, I must have done something right in this life to have boys cooking and folding my laundry!!!) I still was craving girl time.
So, I traveled down to Eugene for a long week. There I enjoyed weekends with Cait, Deven, and their friends along with a 7-day ‘cleanse’ with Cait. Our daily routine included
the boys
and the feast. typical night with 'em. yummy smoothies, salads, sun teas, 70-80 degree sunshine, chakra meditations, and lots of yoga and hiking! Seriously, it was AMAZING! The best cleansing experience I’ve had! Granted I was still eating food (compared to my usual liquid cleanses). We abstained from sugar/caffeine/alcohol/grains/dairy. We enjoyed our tea and smoothies in fun glasses, sometimes wine glasses sometimes martini glasses. I spent my days in their beautiful backyard soaking up the sunshine and reading the Golden Compass series. We successfully completed the seven days and had a feast in celebration of our success. It couldn’t have been any better.
I journeyed back up to Portland yesterday to collect my belongings from Brodie’s and get organized for the Sasquatch Music Festival this weekend. Harlan and I are leaving at sunrise Friday morning and from there I will be heading to Seattle.
My next adventures will be in Washington, Vancouver, and hopefully Alaska.
Stay tuned and enjoy the pictures.
Much love,
k
