Today we met up with Emma who lived with us for a year. We went on a Duck Tour with Emma which are like a regular tour but their cars turn into boats and they can take you on the Charles River which is the river that separates old Boston and new Boston. Our guides name was Polly W Quacker and he was insane. He thought he had been raised by parrots instead of parents and he thought his Uncle was a toucan and he insisted his distant cousins were geese. But this was just part of his act, he wasn't really insane. On the tour he took us past the Massachusetts State house which has an enormous gilded 23k gold dome. It was pretty impressive. We drove out onto the Charles River and I got to drive the boat for a little bit - I nearly ran us into the edge of the tunnel.

After the Duck Tour we walked the Freedom Trial which is a walk you do in Boston where all of the historical sites are. For example we saw Samuel Adam's and Paul Revere's grave. Samuel Adams was a Founding Father of the war

of independence and Paul Revere was the guy who rode a horse throughout the night to tell the Patriots "The Red Coats are coming!" - the red coats were the British Soldiers.

We said goodbye to Emma and packed that night ready to take the train the next day to New York.

Today we saw Emma and we went on a tour called the Duck Tour. This is where you get on a big truck which weighs 24 tonnes and it is shaped like a boat and it says The Duck on the front. This was made by the army for when they were invading other countries and defending their country. The Duck drives on land like a truck but it can also float like a boat in water. We drove past all of these monuments and we went across a river, the Charles River and I drove the boat in the water.

After that we went on a long walk, which was a history walk and we got some icecream on the way even though it was freezing in Boston. We went for dinner with Emma in a restaurant close to Mike's Diner which

I should mention as a very fine place to have breakfast, they give you hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream, or should I say cocoa with a mountain of whipped cream. The place was pretty good, they gave us little meals. My favourite was a mini hamburger. After that I got a slurpy from seven eleven which was across the road (PS there was a cup about 20cms wide and it got fatter when it when up and it went up for half a metre which I wanted to get it but Dad didn't let me.)
