Hi all, I hope you're enjoying your bank holidays!

I've been in Brisbane for a couple of days now, staying with a friend of mine who I met when I was studying in Germany. It's actually been a really nice relaxed couple of days. As I'm sure you can tell, I've pretty much been on the go since I left home.

Before arriving in Brisbane, I was on the trip to Fraser Island which was wonderful. I expect the pictures will show you more than I can tell you but the island is made entirely from sand so we saw lots of beautiful beaches and some freshwater lakes and creeks. The weather was beautiful except when were on a beach that rather reminded me of Trebarwith Strand and the rain definitely helped with that impression (my family will know what I mean!!)

We also stayed in an Aborigine camp which was interesting as we had one of the aboriginies come and talk to us about some of their beliefs and the way they live. It was great to learn about a culture that is very different from the one I recognise in the rest of Australia.

I made some great friends on the trip as well. 8 of us were stuck in a land cruiser together for 3 days so it was lucky we all got on so well. They even trusted me enough to let me drive them along the beach for a while.

Hope to update again soon! Bye x

Ok, so I wrote this yesterday but couldn't upload photos until today, sorry!!

Very envious of Sunny Days
Looks like you've developed a wonderful even tan now, despite the champagne rain. Moral of the story - always carry a bin liner in your bag. Love you xxx
