I'm up in the middle of the night--not qiute adjusted to the 10 hour time change, I guess. Good time to try uploading photos and add a quick note. Tomorrow, cars are not allowed on the streets until after the marathon is finished. We met a guy from London on the canal boat trip who will be running it.

On our walk to the canal, we saw a million shoe stores. Last time I was in Italy, I commented on the spiked heel, pointy toed shoes. Here in Milan, I'm seeing mainly ballet type slippers with cute rounded toe and no heel, also high top boots and colored tennis shoes. In one of the photos, you can see a dog patiently waiting while its master tries on shoes,

As politely as I could, I asked the 82 year old on our boat trip about his recollection of WWII. He commented on how horrible the bombing was, and when I asked about Mussoloini, he shook his head in disgust, "So many lives lost for nothing."

Another note. According to the news, the weather has been bad, but so far the so-called rain has only misted on us a bit.

OK. On to uploading the photos.
