Invented by the Inca's and nowdays still used to fish. Good boats to surf the waves too but I prefer a surboard
Our last stop in Peru was Mancora, A cool surfers hangout where there was not that more to do than surfing....so we did. Waves were good there so we had a good time surfing (and waching the word cup in between)
It's easily a place where I could spend some more time but since Colombia is waiting as well I had to move a bit.
Thats how we ended up in Equador. First impression is too rich, which means expensive for us.
Even before I started this trip to south america I new that Galapagos was not an option, but luckily there is someting as the poor mans galapagos...called Isla de Plata.
From Puerto Viejo we did a day trip to this island 40 meters from the coast to spot some wildlife. Especially a lot of birds...not my favorite kind of animals, but I must say that the blue footed booby's were something and the Albatros even better.
We were lucky to see the albatrosses doing some kind of mating ritual...and later we could see a whale from the island as well.
Afrter snorkeling a bit with zero visability we went back on the boat in the hope to spot some

Our cool surf hangout for a couple of days. Nice long lefty which you can ride for almost a more than half a minute
whales from a little closer.........yeah it was our lucky day. 4 whales were cruising along and we could enjoy their company for some 20 minutes or so...not the first time but still impressive.

After a terrible trip with night busses we arrived early in Riobamba, could sleep for an hour before we had to catch the train. This time not to go somewhere but just to enjoy the ride on the roof of this train.....At first it was great but after sitting for 5 hours on top of the train looking at the landscape passing by it was getting a bit boring!!!

Next stop was BaƱos, where we climbed on a mountainbiked and planned to do some downhillng!!! Too bad there were some uphill parts as well, but luckily for us there where some nice waterfalls to take a short brake!!!

Some more action we found in Tena!! The Kayak capital of Equador, en we loved it!! (not the town but the kayaking for sure!!)
After all the action time to relax and meet up with Bob and Alwin again. 3 days of good fun with them in Quito passed by too soon, but it was a
