Hello all,

Well, we are back on the travel adventure route and Matt and I left one day after mom and dad. We have arrived safely in Frankfurt after a turbulance filled final 30 minutes of our flight, and as one who loves a good roller coaster, even I was a bit nauseaous. Poor Matt was still green after arriving at the hotel a few hours later, but he managed to avoid using the little puke bags, unlike my poor mom. There was more than a few people running for the bathrooms as the plane was taxing down the runway.

We are proud to say that we made it to our hotel after using the train system to find our way, and we didn't even get that lost 😊. We arrived before our rooms were ready for us, so we were upgraded from the comfort Inn to the Ramada, which was just two blocks up from where the origninal hotel was. We were so happy to find our hotel as we were both exausted from the trip, although it is was morning here, it was somewhere in the wee hours back at home. We decided to take a 'brief' two hour nap, except when we turned the alarm back off, we both prompty fell back asleep and didn't wake up for another three hours. We really regretted that decision when we were both laying awake at 2 am last night. lol. We are trying a lot harder to get onto Europe time today, but we have to be at the airport by 3:30am tonight so we will see how that pans out.

Matt and I did some exploring of Franfurt today, staying away from the hotel's warm beds seemed like a good idea. It is cold and raining today, but we took a walk down to the Old City and enjoyed some of the old architecture and some of the more modern buildings as well. We went into a couple of the catholic cathedrals while Matt got his photographer on 😊 I personally enjoyed the buildings better from the outside, but I do have to admit that the massive pipe organs are pretty impressive. After a few hours of walking around the city, I was more than grateful that my husband is willing to indulge my coffee addiction, as a cup of coffee here is roughly $8.00 Canadian... Mmm coffee!

We are planning on heading back down to the river tonight to catch the fireworks, before boarding another plane to meet up with Tom and Roland and continue making our way to Africa.
