MacIvers Campground - our own personal campground!
September 18 - Next stop was Sault Ste. Marie, where we stayed in a Casino Parking lot again, free parking and dinner at their dining room – celebrated our 34 year anniversary (day late, but that was ok). Was raining the next day, but toured the locks at Sault Ste. Marie – very interesting to see the tremendous amount of work that went into the building of the locks through the St. Laurence Seaway, back in the late 1800’s.

Continued on to Blind River, ON, by Elliot Lake, where Gerry knew some buddies that he had worked with over the years. We were invited to dinner at their house, with another couple, which was a very nice evening. Great to have someone else to talk to! Ha ha. Stayed at MacIver CG, where once again we were the only ones there! Definitely slow time of year, especially mid-week. After checking the weather, we realized this was to be our last nice sunny and warm day for the next 5 (rain, rain, rain in the forecast!), so stayed and golfed at the local course – Huron Pines GC. Absolutely beautiful course and nice sunny day – manicured like Moon Lake, SK.

Huron Pine Golf Course
Golfed well – getting closer to breaking 90! Parked at golf course for free – gawd we’re cheap!
