Star spotting
Base player with bum bag action YAY! Friday got here pretty quickly this week and at least half the town left Derby for Broome's Shinju Festival. I stuck around for a soon to be annual event (ok slight exaggeration).
We went to Prue's place for the barbeque to end all bbq's. The food was magnificent. I will have food dreams about it for along time to come. Unfortunately, we had gathered to farewell our good mates Nat and Corey. Derby will be a different place for me without them.
After we couldn't fit another thing in, we arrived at the Boab Inn where localish band Red Soil was playing.
We were all in fine form thanks largely to Prue's addiction to Pink (the sparkling variety).
Caitlyn's birthday was to begin at midnight and we had dressed for the occassion. Emma, Caitlyn and myself decided that the appropriate way to welcome in her 22nd year was to bring back the fashion of wearing bumbags. It was, of course, a huge hit and we got alot of public support for our endeavour. The base player of Red Soil was actually wearing a bumbag himself as you can see in one of the photos which proves how convienient they
Nat and Corey
I'm going to miss these guys. really are.
The night was lots of fun and we all stumbled home in good spirits.
Saturday was Caitlyn's real birthday and I had organised a surprise for her. Yes, due to our shared passion for chocolate, a fondue fountain was the only option( made possible to Mel of QB). So at 3pm we gorged on chocolate covered stawberries, marshmallows and .....banana. Heaven!
We didn't get around to planking/teapotting but the bumbags were out in force once more which made up for those 'havebeen' crazes.
Today is Keia's birthday but she is crazy busy so we will catchup later thisd week. As for me it's boring day. I'm just about to head off to the jetty where Prue and Jono are taking the guys out mud crabbing. I'm staying home to clean and mark. Boo
At sunset drinks will be served on the jetty for Nat and Corey's last night. Tears will be shed.
