Today was pretty hard. For the first time it struck me that actually pretty lonely sometimes being so far away. I really miss being able to spend time with people at home. Not so much because I've been gone so long (its not even a week) but more because it seems like ages until I will be able to see them. I also have a 4 day long weekend ahead of me and I've been kind of wondering how I will fill it since I don't really know anyone here yet. It's not looking quite as grim now though. I have plans with an expat from the UK, Louise, who is going to take me swimming and then shopping tomorrow morning. Maybe I can find a pilates mat somehow. And on Saturday I have a skype called lined up for the morning which I'm really looking forward to, and then Sophea and Sothea from the IT company have offered to take me sight seeing in Phnom Penh, which is really nice of them.

I promised myself that I wasn't going to complain about the heat, since I've been complaining about the cold in Sydney for so long. So I won't complain. But I would just like to note that its very hot. I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to use hot water in a shower here!

After spending time with you in the US during their heatwave last year, I'm surprised you're not having hot showers and wearing jumpers.
