The Willynobs had an exciting day yesterday. It began with a sumptious breakfast after the Willys had been woken at 4am to pray. The Nobs had a room far from the mosque with the best view! So although the Nobs had not been purified we still let them accompany us for our helicopter ride over Dubai. The Nobs are seasoned helicopter riders, Brian went in one during his army days but for me, I was a virgin. Would I be sacrificed? I was placed near the door!! What words to describe a fantastic 15 minutes.
Our pilot was a Kiwi and we did get few xtra minutes - like to think this was because we are neighbours. But anyway it was truly memorable.
The views of the man made islands of the world, the Palm, Atlantis, the beaches and the gorgeous blue water and of course the skyline of the buildings. The Sheik has such huge vision and to see them come to life is quite amazing. Chris immortalsd the moment by filming her right foot - in sandals with no nailpolish - Chris has had a few comments about that!

Could the day get bettr? It did when we went on safari out to the desert with a couple of bores from Barcelona. They didn't spoil our fun though. Our driver was excellent on th road, so we had confidence in the sand. There were over 100 4WD in the desert so there was quite a few of us but the desert is huge! We went dune bashing for an hour - stopping for photos twice until the final stop for the sunset shot. Lots of photos taken! We hen proceeded to have dinner - Beduoin style which is quite uncomfortable - but the stars, the black night, the belly dancer and the food were all excellent. Thedriver told us he was single, but we think he was on a promise as he reached speeds of 145 kph on the way home. I did my usual and fell asleep - it had been big day fo a virgin.

We all did bring home a lot of the desert - the sand is so fine. However I managed to leave a trail of sand from car, through the hotel lobby, up to the 9th floor and into bed. The Nobs followed me all the way - laughing.

In Dubai airprt now about to start next adventure in Turkey.
Love
