Am not even sitting with my own children!
BULLA,

Sorry for my tardiness on the blog...but here is a bit of an update on life in FIJI!

Zara turned 3 recently and we decided to celebrate with a trip away - which is very easy to do when you live in FIJI. Local rates here are fantastic and I intend to take full advantage during out time here. Mum is here at the moment and we just had a few nights away at Natadola (intercontinental).

Ok - so this is my favorite place so far in FIJI....

http://www.toberua.com/ - this is what FIJi is all about. From what all the locals and expats who have been here a while tell me that you need to go out to the islands to experience the "real fiji"...this was my first island trip and i'm sold.

To get to toberua its about a 30 min drive from our house plus a 30 minute speed boat ride (great for small kids) - there are around 16 bure's on the island and all meals are included (and the food was great). The island is knows for it's sea snakes (have attached some photo's) - ellie had the 1st sighting

The 5 girls
- then the snake came and visited us again and again! I was told if these guys bite you then your in a bit of trouble! Lovely hearing that at the start of the trip.

We went with some friends we have made over here - they also have 3 kids, similar ages - 6, 4 and 2. Nick works in a similar role to Shaun and Amanda and I share many interests, tennis, wine, trips to the chinese spa 😉.... The bure's sleep 2 adults 3 kids - all in one room - thank goodness the babysitter was so great - they put the kids to be every night while we went to dinner.

I think what makes this place so fantastic is the intimate size of the place and how personal it is - staff know your name, the kids names, and the island is just so beautiful - so nice to take simple pleasure out of collecting crabs and star fish on the beach with the kids. Food was fantastic - 3 course meals (boat came back kilo's heavier).

Anyway - have a look at the photo's.

I'm sold too!!
Hey Justine! Looks amazing. Great to see that you are living it up-it suits you. Stay the hell away from those snakes (can't even bear to look at the pics so don't know how the girls could possibly get so close to it). Belated birthday wishes to Zara. xx
